-The Bible is a contradictory, error ridden collection of documents. When I say it is error ridden, it quite literally has thousands upon thousands of errors tossed all throughout. Not only that, but there are obvious direct contradictions in it. The New Testament is drowning in errors to say the least. Even with updates and newer publishing, an atheist or someone outside Christianity has their hands full of biblical document flaws. Scribes really dropped the ball, didn’t they? It sounds like they did, but the reality is, it’s not anywhere near as bad as it seems.
99 percent of the errors in the bible were grammar related and the small leftovers are the contradictions. When I say contradictions, I’m referring to petty contradictions. For instance, Judas dies in two different ways. The story of Jarius and his daughter is contradictory in two of the gospels. Jesus didn’t technically die for a full three days and three nights, contradictory to prophecy. (Which is heavily debated to this day btw) Regardless of the petty contradictions, it is clear the bible serves its beautiful purpose.
1. THE BIBLE IS NOT A CHRISTIAN’S GOD; GOD IS THEIR GOD. the Bible is only a tool. A tool is something to assist in faith. If I used a hammer for decades, what happens to it? It gets scratches and wear on it. It loses its shape. Do we toss it? No. We continue to use it. why? because it still does its JOB.
2. The overall Christian narrative that Jesus came down to earth, lived, died and was resurrected is consistent in all four gospels. For someone to pick out petty contradictions actually does nothing to what matters most…that Jesus is a godly figure who came back to life. In fact, these contradictions are so subtle that most people don’t even realize it.
3. Because of point 2 above, Christians have logical reason to have faith in a Godly figure that came to earth and died by crucifixion 2000 years ago. He appeared to twelve rational men, then left. This is quite literally all Christians need to know to base faith off of. Christianity is not blind faith in the slightest. Blind faith is random cults that pop up and people base their belief off some dude who had a dream of some sort. Consider Jim jones. All those people died by drinking the purple “cool-aide” because they were having faith in Jims words, the faith was blind faith entirely. Whatever worldview is true, it must have evidence to base faith off of, blind faith not enough in a world of thousands of conflicting ideas. Random cults and followings are purely founded on someone else’s subjective experience only, which is a dangerous game to play.
Christians remember, if someone wants to bible bash, it’s a complete waste of your time. Logically speaking a bible bash is over before it begins. Bible bashes are arguably the most useless waste of anyone’s time that one can waste. It turns into a cat and mouse game, never ending. Logically, the narrative is consistent throughout, and the bible serves its purpose. PERIOD. no need to waste your time. Remember that a tool serves a purpose, and it doesn’t have to look pretty to accomplish that.
